Welcome to Ridgefield Troop 19

WHO WE ARE

Troop 19 is Ridgefield’s all-girl Scouts BSA troop for ages 11-17. Our troop number comes from the 19th Amendment to the Constitution giving women the right to vote.
We are a scout-led troop which means that our scouts lead and organize our activities, with the guidance of our trained adult leaders.

WHAT WE DO

Adventure: We are an outdoors-oriented troop and we have a camping event at least once a month during the school year. Our camping trips can involve backpacking, rappelling, biking, and canoeing. We attend events with other scout troops and independently. Our troop plans to attend Summer Camp at Sequassen each year as well. Last spring we went rafting, hiking, and on aerial ropes courses during our June trip!

Leadership: We are a scout-led troop where all events are led and organized by our scouts under the guidance of adult leaders.

Education: We take an annual historical trip to Boston, NYC, or Philadelphia in the fall.

Scout events: We regularly participate in events with other troops locally and beyond.

Community service: We assist with local community events and participate in regular activities like Scoutscan at our local recycling center.

Advancement: We work our way through the scout ranks and earn merit badges through meeting activities, special events, and on our own time.
